I teed it up on Sunday with a former groom of mine. Mike and Tammy married on Mother's Day, 2007 on Daufuskie Island, and this was their first return to Hilton Head since then. While Tammy spent Sunday with her Mom, Mike and I played Harbour Town Golf Club at Sea Pines, host of the Heritage Classic, and regarded as one of the tightest courses on the PGA Tour.
My late Grandfather taught me the game when I was six, and at one point in my teens I was able to put together a decent game. I rarely have the time to play now, and when I do, the best thing for my game is to avoid bringing a pencil and scorecard. When I blow three balls into a lake off the tee, instead of becoming a volcano, I just drop another and hit it again.
Mike pulled off the shot of the day, draining his 140 yard approach on two from the woods for an eagle. Of course that was how he planned it.
