Amy and JR meet before the cermony

Amy and JR

Amy and JR married at Daufuskie Island on 10 March, and today their site goes live at amyandjr.com

When I think back to their celebration, I am reminded of the pure, raw love and joy that they showed for one another as they met before the ceremony. She's an absolute sweetheart, and this blog post was just interrupted by a 20 minute call from Amy.

Amanda and Rob

Amanda and Rob Wells married at the Jekyll Island Club on 24 February. In a rarity for me, this is one couple who lives nearby, and I was able to hand deliver their image catalog this Sunday afternoon. Watching Amanda and Rob relive their day... and see so many parts of it that they did not experience themselves, was a treat for me to see.

Please visit amandaandrob.com to experience their day.

Genesis

Who am I, why are you here?

I am Josh’s dad and Alison’s husband. We have lived in Savannah for nearly three years. Prior to that, Alison and I lived in Texas and South Africa, and I have also lived in the American Midwest and Northeast. I have been a photojournalist for half of my life, working on assignment in nearly 50 countries for publications, corporations and couples.

I changed my focus when I moved to Savannah, and am now using my storytelling abilities to photograph wedding celebrations. I also work with a few families each year to create a book about who they are, at this time.

My life is visual, but there is a tremendous thought process that goes into creating images. I’m going to speak a little bit about the thinking, or lack of thinking for certain images, and whatever else comes to mind.
